Ellsworth announces NJCAA All-Academic honors

 

Ellsworth Community College has been informed by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) that three Panther athletic teams have received the honor of being named an NJCAA Academic Team.

In order to receive this distinction, the team must have earned a GPA of 3.0 or better.   Women's basketball maintained a GPA of 3.40.  Softball's GPA was 3.32.  Baseball rounded out ECC's Academic Teams with a GPA of 3.18. 

Ellsworth Athletics also had twenty-two student-athletes receive individual NJCAA All-Academic honors.  NJCAA All-Academic First Team honorees must receive a GPA of 4.00, Second Team requires a GPA of 3.80-3.99, and Third Team honorees must maintain a GPA of 3.60-3.79.

First Team NJCAA All-Academic honorees are Ellie Barrows, freshman women's basketball from Littleton, CO; Cheyann Marshall, sophomore women's basketball from Dunlap, IA; and Laikyn Miller, sophomore women's basketball from Parkersburg, IA.

Second Team NJCAA All-Academic honorees for the Panthers are Thomas Auth, sophomore baseball from Minnetonka, MN; Matt Bigley, sophomore football from West Salem, WI; Broderick Bittle, freshman baseball from Winona, MN; Justyn Maynard, freshman wrestling from Dania, FL; Ybrahim Quevedo, sophomore baseball from Carabobo, Venezuela; Jacob Schellpfeffer, sophomore baseball from Mayville, WI; Alexis Sconyers, sophomore softball from Shattuck, OK; Katie Smith, sophomore softball from Robins, IA; Brook Stegner, freshman volleyball from Centerview, MO; and Will Weidemann, sophomore football from Clarion, IA.

Third Team NJCAA All-Academic honors go to Carlos Aranda, sophomore baseball from Santo Domingo; Julian Baldi, sophomore football from Bolzano, Italy; Nicholas Boscan, sophomore baseball from Caracas, Venezuela; Harlie Durr, sophomore softball from Newton, IA; Keegan Glaus, sophomore football from Bettendorf, IA; Hannah Hoffman, sophomore softball from St. Joseph, MO; Ja'Ron Kilpatrick, sophomore football from Winter Haven, FL; Sidney Larsen, sophomore softball from Des Moines, IA; and Keara Williams, freshman basketball from Arlington, TX.
