Ellsworth Volleyball Coach Ashley Clark steps down

After serving as Head Volleyball Coach at Ellsworth Community College since 2015, Ashley Clark has stepped down to pursue new opportunities in her home state of California.

Clark's last day at ECC was on Friday, Jan. 12. She will be traveling to Redondo Beach, CA, where she has accepted a job at AVP Academy as a personal assistant for the Managing Director, Scott Davenport. Davenport was one of Clark's college volleyball coaches. In addition to the personal assistant position, Clark will be working with Davenport to learn how to coach beach volleyball and develop her network in the sand.

During her three seasons at Ellsworth, Clark had 15 players named to First Team Academic All-Region; four Second Team Academic All-Region; four Honorable Mention All-Conference; two Regional All-Tournament; one Second Team All-Region, and one Second Team All-Conference. Along with coaching volleyball, Clark also worked at the Dale Howard Activity Center and served as an ECC housing director and an adjunct professor teaching College Experience, Health, Weight Lifting, and Academic Success in the summer program.

"First and foremost, I'd like to thank the campus and community for giving me an opportunity to pursue my dream," Clark said before her departure. "(ECC Athletic Director) Nate Forsyth took a chance on me, and I could not be more thankful to him and the role he has played in my developmental journey.  I was immediately welcomed and accepted into the community and the campus, and for that, I will be forever grateful.  The people here are amazing, and the people are what I will miss the most.  It will be hard to say goodbye to the friends I have made here and to the students whom I so proudly served.  Hopefully I have made as much of an impact on them as they have made on me."
