ECC's Mary Goergen honored

Ellsworth Community College volleyball is proud to announce that Mary Goergen has been awarded two honors by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC).

Goergen received Region XI-A All-Tournament Team honors as well as Honorable Mention All-Conference. During the 2015 season she accumulated 328 sets, 896 total attacks, 240 digs, 24 blocks, and 58 ace serves.

"Mary was a leader from the day I met her. She has a great personality and connects well with her teammates," commented ECC Head Volleyball Coach Ashley Clark. "She bought into what I was teaching and was willing to learn and improve each and every day she was in the gym. She was the most consistent player on the team this year and always did her best, which is all I can ask for. I appreciate the time and effort that she gave to me, her teammates, and to the program. She will be missed next year, but I wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors!"

Goergen is planning to transfer to a four-year college and continue her volleyball career. She has several schools in mind, and her final decision will be based heavily on the school's volleyball and nursing programs.

Goergen played outside hitter for the Panthers and came to ECC from Rochester, MN.
