The Ellsworth Community College Panthers faced a tough Iowa Lakes team on Wednesday, Oct. 7. The Panthers lost in three games 20-25, 17-25 and 8-25.

ECC kept things competitive in the first two games but couldn't pull off a win. "We played well in sets 1 and 2, but our hitting was off all night," commented Head Coach Ashley Clark. "We couldn't find ways to repeatedly put the ball away for points. 

The Panthers were led by Mary Goergen, who had 7 kills and 5 digs. ECC also had assistance from Tiffany Jacobson with 6 kills and 4 digs; April Jones with 5 kills; Anna Smith with 10 digs and 21 assists, and Carlin Whelpley with 7 digs.

Ellsworth will host Marshalltown Community College on Monday, Oct. 12, at 7 pm.
