ECC volleyball wins in three at home

The Ellsworth Community College Panthers came out strong on Monday, Sept. 14, against Wartburg JV. ECC took all three games with scores of 25-14, 25-17 and 25-14.

"We had high energy and ran a good offense," commented ECC Head Volleyball Coach Ashley Clark. "Our team needed to prove that they could get a win even after taking a beating over the last week and a half. They proved that and left no doubt in my mind that they are still getting better and are still up for the challenge as we look forward to Kirkwood coming to our house on Wednesday."

The entire Panther team contributed to the big win against Wartburg. Mary Goergen led the team with 11 kills and contributed 2 aces and 5 digs; April Jones had 9 kills and 4 blocks; Tiffany Jacobson had 7 kills and 3 blocks; Carlin Whelpley led the team with 13 digs; Paola Soto had 5 digs and an ace; and Anna Smith had 30 assists.

The Panthers will host Kirkwood Community College on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 7 pm.
