The Ellsworth Community College volleyball team won Tuesday, Sept. 9 against Wartburg JV in three sets. The Panthers won 25-20, 25-19 and 25-15.
Stats leaders included Keisha Machado with 8 kills a .333 efficiency and 9 digs; April Jones had 8 kills (.533 efficiency) and 2 blocks; Cristina Negron had 13 set assists and 5 kills; and Darayliz Santiago had 8 set assists and 2 aces.
"It was great to get our first win at home, and in three," commented ECC Head Coach Melanie Suljic. "Our hitting efficiency was much better than this weekend. We overall as a team hit at a .239, but our intensity still needs a bit of work. Overall, it was a good first win at home and we'll keep building from here."
The Panthers will be back on the road for their next match against Iowa Western. They will play at 7:00 pm on Friday, Sept. 12.
