Justin Folley ICCAC Male Student-Athlete of the Year

Ellsworth Community College wrestler Justin Folley has been selected by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) as the ICCAC Male Student-Athlete of the Year. This is the first year that this award has been presented by the conference.

The award is given to a student athlete to highlight the best of the best. Nominations for the award were received by the ICCAC Awards Committee, comprised of select athletic directors from across the conference. Nominations were then pared down to the top three who embodied the best characteristics that the ICCAC offers on the court or field but also in the classroom, school and community. This year's top three included Folley along with Akean Shackleford (Indian Hills – Soccer) and Chas Sagedahl (Southeastern – Baseball).

The award was presented to Folley at the ICCAC Athletic Directors' meeting in Des Moines on Wednesday, May 22.

Folley was the Panther wrestling team captain for the 2017-18 season with a 48-15 overall record. He finished as a two-time All-American in both the 125 weight class (2017) and 133 weight class (2018). He was also named ECC's Male Student-Athlete of the Year.

Folley served as a resident assistant at ECC and volunteered as a physical fitness assistant at a senior living facility in Iowa Falls, as well as volunteering at his local church. When in his hometown Milwaukee, WI, he also volunteers as a coach for the Ringers Wrestling Club, helping youth wrestlers.

Folley graduated from ECC this spring and will is transferring to NCAA Division II Upper Iowa University.
