The Ellsworth Community College wrestling came back from holiday break ready to compete. Currently ranked #5 in the nation, ECC took down #13 Harper Community College 45-9 in the first day of NWCA Multi-Divisional National Duals held at Fort Wayne, IN.
ECC won 8 of its 10 matches. The winning ECC wrestlers included Blake Walker (133), who won due to injury; Traveon Jones (141) won by fall in 4:59; Josh Adams (149) won by fall in 1:25; Jaycie Rudd (165) won at time with a score of 19-4; Jordan Gundrum (174) won by forfeit; Anthony Collins (184) won by major decision in an 11-3 matchup; Tim Young (197) won by fall in 1:01; and Gary Whitaker (285) won by fall in 2:59.
Kyle Lindner (125) lost by decision 12-5, and Steven Lawrence (157) lost by fall in 6:42.
The Panthers will wrestle again today at the National Duals at 11 am against #1 Northeastern Oklahoma A&M.
