Whitaker has signed with NAIA powerhouse Grand View University to continue his academic and wrestling career. Grand View has taken home a National Title the last six years.

The Ellsworth Panther Wrestling Team closed the 2017 NJCAA National Tournament with a 5th place finish. The 5th place standing is Ellsworth’s second straight top 5 finish and fourth straight top 10 finish at Nationals.
The Ellsworth Panthers Wrestling team ended the first day of the NJCAA National Wrestling Tournament with four wrestlers who will be named All-Americans tomorrow at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, IA. Justin Folley, Steven Lawrence, Jordan Gundrum, and Tim Young will continue in Saturday’s portion of the National Junior College Athletic Association National Wrestling Tournament.
Ellsworth Community College hosted the Central District Wrestling Championships on Sunday, Feb. 12, and the Panthers wrestled to a second place team finish with 127 points. Only Iowa Central earned more team points, with 171.5.
