Ellsworth Women Clipped by Northeast

IOWA FALLS, IOWA -- Northeast (Neb.) CC built a 22-8 lead after the first quarter, widened it to 46-19 by intermission, and continued to pull away in the final half in a 78-40 win against Ellsworth CC Thursday night in Dittmer Gym.

The 40 points were a season-low for the Panthers and the entire scoring output came from the starting five.  Victaeja Leavy and Autumn Shull led the way with 10 points each, Ellie Barrows added eight, and Keara Williams and Halle Miller pitched in six apiece.  Shull had a double-double with 10 rebounds to go along with her 10 points and five of those boards came on the offensive end.  Leavy handed out four assists, Williams had seven steals and Barrows blocked two shots.

The defeat stopped ECC's two-game winning streak.  The Panthers will host Iowa Western this Saturday afternoon and then go to NIACC next Wednesday.
