Panther women fall short in overtime

Time was not on the side of the Ellsworth Community College women in their match up against Southeastern Community College on Wednesday, Dec. 5. The Panther women led by twenty points going into half 45-25. A low scoring third quarter, where ECC was outscored 20-6 allowed Southeastern back into the game. The Panthers didn't give up and were able to keep there lead until the end of regulation when the game was forced into overtime tied at 65.

During overtime, Southeastern took the lead for an 81-75 win over the Panthers. Alicia Limones (Belividere, IL) went down in overtime with an injury. Limones had been a big presence for the Panthers during the game with 17 points. Tayla Nulty (Ballarat, Australia) led the Panthers in scoring with 28 points. She shot 7-9 from the 3-point range. Meredith Lincoln (Saratoga, WY) came off the bench after being injured and had 18 points. Lincoln also led the team in rebounds with 9.

The Panthers have one more game before the holiday break. Saturday, Dec. 8 they will travel to Iowa Lakes Community College with tip-off at 1 pm.
