The Ellsworth Community College women's basketball team has started the season with a 3-2 record, in big part to the contributions of freshman Emily Ferrier. Ferrier has been awarded Iowa Community Colege Athletic Association (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week honors.

During the Panthers' busy week of play last week, Ferrier had 16, 22 and 18 points in three different games. Not only is she a big presence on offense, but Ferrier is key to the Panthers on the board as well. In the same three games she scored in double figures last week, she also had 8 rebounds in each game as well, and has tallied 7 blocks so far this season.

The ECC women play next on the road against Wartburg JV on Sunday, Nov. 19, with a 2 pm tip-off.
