The Ellsworth Community College women's basketball honored its sophomores at the final regular season home game and was also able to claim a 58-51 win over Iowa Central.
During the first quarter the Panthers outscored Iowa Central 16-9, which proved the difference in the final score of the game. During the second quarter both teams scored 10 points, then Iowa Central outscored the Panthers 12-11 in the third quarter. ECC tallied one more point than Iowa Central in the fourth to post the final 58-51 winning score.
The sophomore Panthers stepped up big to lead their team to a win, leading in all stats. Antoinette Williams led the Panthers in scoring with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Jade Brown was close behind with 18 points, and Jahne Williams had 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
The Panthers will host Little Priest Tribal College tonight in the first round of tournaments. The game will tip-off at 5:30 pm.
