The Ellsworth Community College women's basketball team suffered a loss to Southwestern on Wednesday, Jan. 14, in Creston.
After a tight battle between the two teams in the first half, Southwestern went into the half-time break with a 33-31 lead. The start of the second half remained close, with neither team able to pull away in the first ten minutes. Southwestern then pulled away in the second half, ending the game with a 62-49 win.
ECC was led by Keziah Lewis with 14 points and 7 rebounds, and Ashley Gates with 11 points and 7 rebounds.
The Panthers will be at home tonight against Kirkwood starting at 5:30 pm.
