Two Ellsworth Community College softball players were named to the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) All-Region team, and three additional Panthers received honorable mention honors for their efforts on the field this season.

Second Team All-Region honors went to freshman, Lindsay Barnhart, of Iowa Falls, IA and sophomore, Alissa Denn, of Saint Paul, MN.

Honorable mention honors went to sophomore, Crystal Apfel, of Oak Creek, WI; sophomore, Aimee Madrid, of Santa Ana, CA; and sophomore, Kelly Sykes, of Waukesha, WI.

"Academics is very important and each player knows that school comes before softball. We take pride in our school and our softball program," said ECC Head Softball Coach Samantha Shaffer. "Being able to juggle both is very important when you are a student athlete and I couldn't be more proud."
