Ellsworth Community College ended a four game slide on Tuesday when they defeated Quakerdale Prep Academy 85-69. The Panthers came out in the first half and held a six-point lead before pulling away from the Eagles in the 16-point win. Nine players scored for the Panthers, with the majority of the damage done by three. Adam Jackson finished with a game-high 25 points. He also dished out six assists and tallied three steals. Tony Eddy added 22 points and five steals and Josh Donaldson finished with 21 points, four blocks and three steals.
The Ellsworth Community College men’s basketball team is currently on a four-game skid that includes losses to Dakota County Technical College, DMACC and Southwestern Community College this past week.
Slow starts have plagued Ellsworth Community College early this season. One of those they were able to come back from. Another, they never fully found their footing. On Tuesday, the Panthers hosted Graceland University JV and won 101-69. ECC used several scoring runs to knock out the Yellowjackets and had balanced shooting. All 15 that played, scored including four in double figures. Josh Donaldson led the way with 18 points, Tony Eddy added 16 and Tate Muilenburg had 15 in the win.
Last week, Ellsworth Community College won one game and lost one contest. In a home contest against Simpson College JV, the Panthers won in a lopsided 104-72 decision. Of the 14 players that got in, 13 of them scored. Josh Donaldson finished with a team-high 27 and Tony Eddy had 11. The Panthers drained 12 three-pointers in the win.
The Ellsworth Community College men’s basketball team opened the season 2-0 with wins over Bryant and Stratton College and Hibbing College at the Dale Howard Classic.
The Ellsworth Community College Panther basketball team has signed shooting guard Tony Eddy of Byron, IL. Eddy logged an outstanding career at Byron High School, where he was a 1,000 point scorer.
