Panther men split 1-1 in Dale Howard Classic

The Ellsworth Community College men played their first home games of the season this past weekend when they hosted the annual Dale Howard Classic Tournament. The Panther men went 1-1 for the weekend.

ECC opened with a 67-62 win on Friday, Nov. 9 over Rochester Community and Technical College. The Panthers went into half with a 32-28 lead and came out with a five-point victory.

Coming off of the bench, Devontae Sims (Rockford, IL), led ECC in scoring with 20 points followed by LJ Harris (Kankakee, IL) with 16 points. Tate Muilenburg (Iowa Falls) led the team in rebounding with 9 and Jamal Antoine (Houston, TX) led ECC in assists with 6. 

In the second game of the tournament ECC took on Marshalltown Community College on Saturday, Nov. 10. The Panthers struggled to score only hitting 26-74 from the field. Harris led the team in scoring with 17 and Muilenburg led in rebounds with 6.

The Panthers will be on the road for the next couple of weeks starting with the Indian Hills Classic with games on Friday, Nov. 16 at 4:30 pm against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and Howard College at 4:30 pm on Saturday, Nov. 17.
