The Ellsworth Community College men's basketball team finished off its regular season on Saturday with a 72-61 loss to Iowa Central. The Panthers struggled to score in the first half and went into the break down 35-22.
Keeon Johnson led the Panthers in scoring with 15 points. The only other Panther who scored in double figures was Mo Arrington with 11 points; Arrington also lead the team in assists with 4. LaVeechie Wiliams led ECC in rebounding with 7, followed closely by Mike Evans who had 6.
The Panthers as a team shot 53.8% from the free throw line and 41.4% from the field.
ECC will host DMACC on Tuesday, March 7, to start the Region XI tournament. Tip-off will be at 7 pm.
