Ellsworth Community College men's basketball player Yach Deng was awarded Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) player of the week for the week of Feb. 8-14 due to his scoring efforts against both Iowa Lakes and NIACC.
Deng had a team-high 22 points in the Panthers loss against Iowa Lakes on Wednesday, Feb. 10. He went 7-10 from the free throw line and also had three 3-pointers. Deng outdid himself just three days later in the Panthers win over NIACC where he had 36 points. He shot 52% from the field and buried eight three-pointers. He also had seven rebounds, two assists and two steals for the week.
Deng is currently ranked 6th in the nation in free throw percentage at 86.9%.
