Justin Mitchell was hired in 2018 as the Ellsworth Community College Defensive Line Coach. He is originally from Phenix City, AL.

Coach Mitchell played football at Alabama State University from 2011-2014. He was part of one of the most feared defensive fronts in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, coached by DeMarco McNeil, who is on the All-Decade team for the Auburn Tiger and currently on the staff at the University of South Carolina. During this time the Hornets were ranked 1st in the conference in run defense, sacks, and tackles for loss for 2 seasons (2013-2014). The Hornets never had a losing seasons in the four seasons Coach Mitchell played.
