Panther Football Earns Road Win

SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA -- Thanks to a two-point conversion after a fourth-quarter touchdown the Ellsworth Panthers came away with a road win on Saturday, edging Southern Shreveport, 22-20.

The game was tied 14-14 at the half and that was still the score heading into the final period.  Each team scored a TD in the 4th quarter, but Southern Shreveport failed to convert on their extra-point try while the Panthers were successful and that was the difference in the contest.

Ellsworth's Kevin Lukasiewicz had a good day throwing the football, completing 24-of-39 attempts for 228 yards.  Lukasiewicz scored on two short touchdown runs.  Ja'Ron Early led the ECC rushing attack with 23 carries for 60 yards.  Jeremy Williams snagged five passes for 65 yards and Malcolm Gillie caught three for 39 yards.  The Panthers netted 264 yards total offense in collecting their second win of the spring.

ECC plays at Iowa Central next Saturday and then concludes the season at home against Iowa Western the following Saturday.
