Panther football falls to Butler

The Ellsworth Community College football team fell to Butler Community College 42-6 on Saturday, Oct. 27. The Panthers have only two games left for the season.

The lone touchdown for the Panthers came in the third quarter with a 36-yard touchdown run from Mark Wright (Carrollton, GA). The kick by Adijan Muhamedjic (Waterloo, IA) was blocked to hold the Panthers to 6.

Freshman Taylen Alexander (Cedar Falls, IA) was the starting quarterback for ECC and threw for 36 yards in the game. Will Weidemann (Clarion, IA) was leading rusher with 15 yards. Marquis Mickens (Orlando, FL) was leading receiver with 28 yards.

Once again Ali Shockley (Rock Hills, SC) led the Panther defense with ten tackles. Naeem Smith (Iowa City, IA) followed close behind with nine tackles.

ECC will host Coffeyville Community College on Saturday, Nov. 3 with kickoff at 1 pm for their last home game of the season.
