Former Panther Jaleel Scott signs with Baltimore Ravens

What college athlete doesn't dream of playing profesional sports? That dream came true for former Ellsworth Community College Panther Jaleel Scott on Saturday, April 28, when he was selected in the NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens. Scott was selected in the 4th round of the draft at number 132.

Scott attended Ellsworth Community College and played for the Panthers in the 2015-16 season. He tallied nine touchdowns and 668 yards, averaging 55.7 yards per game and 14.8 yards per catch.

After one season at ECC, Scott transferred to New Mexico State, where he recorded five touchdown receptions but only 23 passes during his junior year.

Scott exploded on to the scene his senior year for the Aggies. He started all 13 games and helped New Mexico to its first bowl appearance in 57 years, where he had the only receiving touchdown the Aggies had in the Arizona Bowl victory over Utah State. Scott finished that season 23rd in the NCAA and second in the Sun Belt Conference with 1,079 receiving yards. He was also 25th in the country with nine receiving touchdowns in his final year.

During his time at New Mexico, Scott played in 25 games and made 99 receptions for 1,362 yards and 14 touchdowns.
