ECC football welcomes new head coach Tony Haynes

Ellsworth Community College athletics announced that on Wednesday, Jan. 10, Tony Haynes was named the new Panther Head Football Coach.

Haynes comes to Ellsworth with more than 14 years of football experience, most recently two years at Coffeyville Community College, where he was Offensive Coordinator. He was also Offensive Coordinator at Concord University 2015-2016 and Butler Community College 2012-2014. Prior to that, Haynes was Quarterbacks Coach at Savannah State University in 2011, Offensive Graduate Assisstant at University of Alabama-Birmingham 2008-2010, Passing Game Coordinator/Recruiting Coordiator at Blinn College in 2007, and Offensive Graduate Assistant at Valdosta State University in 2005-2006.

ECC Athletic Director Nate Forsyth says he is looking forward to having Haynes join the Panther family. "I think Tony will bring a lot to the football program," commented Forsyth. "He has the ability to sustain the success we have had at Ellsworth."

Coach Haynes says, "My wife Kylee and I are very excited to be coming to Iowa Falls to be a part of the ECC family and the Iowa Falls community. We couldn't be happier to work with the great people we've met who support ECC football, and be a part of the great tradition there! This is a great opportunity for us and we can't wait to get to work!"

Haynes has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Webber International University and is working on completing a master's degree.

The ECC football program has a great history of success that includes playing in 29 Bowl games, where they've tallied an NJCAA record of 24 wins and only 5 losses.

Coach Haynes says his first steps at ECC are already determined. "First off, I can't wait to meet my players and get to know, teach, and coach them. I love coaching, and that begins with building strong relationships with my players. We're going to build a tough, competitive culture filled with fearless players and coaches who operate with an elite mentality and a chip on our shoulders. I can't wait to get to work, and I'm excited to lead the Panthers!"
