Greenhaw, Schad & Smith earn ICCAC honors

Three members of the Panther football team have garnered Athlete of the Week honors from the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC). Drew Greenhaw (Muscatine, IA) was named Offensive Athlete of the Week, Keonte Schad (Madison, WI) earned Defensive Athlete of the Week and Naeem Smith (Iowa City, IA) received Special Teams Athlete of the Week.

All three players were an important part of the Panthers win this past Saturday over College of DuPage.

Greenhaw, a freshman wide receiver, had five receptions for 88 yards in the game. He is fourth in the conference with 21 receptions, second in the conference in yards with 350 and second in yards per game with 70. Greenhaw is also tied for first in the conference with two receiving touchdowns.

Schad, a sophomore defensive tackle, had three tackles for a loss this past Saturday. He also had two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He is ranked in the top five in the conference this year with 13 solo tackles and five assists. Schad also has 18 tackles this season for 3.6 tackles per game. He is also tied for first in the conference with three forced fumbles and number one with two fumble recoveries.

Smith, a freshman defensive back, had two big plays against DuPage that made the difference in the game. He blocked a punt that was recovered for a touchdown and then fielded a blocked punt and returned it to the 27 yards to the five-yard line.
