Rooney and Lemke earn ICCAC honors

For the second week in a row two members of the Panther football team have garnered Athlete of the Week honors from the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC). Ben Rooney (Donnellson, IA) was named Offensive Athlete of the Week and Jack Lemke (Fulton, IL) earned Special Teams Athlete of the Week.

Rooney, a sophomore wide receiver, caught six passes in Saturday's game against Dodge City. He tallied 130 receiving yards with one touchdown, which occurred in the fourth quarter and kept the Panthers in the game. Rooney is ranked 11th nationally in receiving yards (278).

Lemke, a freshman kicker, went 3-for-4 on field goals for the Panthers as well as being perfect at 3-for-3 in extra points. He accounted for 10 of the Panthers' 16 points heading into the fourth quarter and had a total of 12 points in the game. Lemke hit field goals from 27, 31 and 34 yards. He is also a pitcher for the ECC baseball team.

The Panthers have a week off before hosting College of DuPage on Saturday, Sept. 30.
