ECC Panthers invited to Dec. 7 bowl game

It was announced by the NJCAA today that the Ellsworth Community College Panthers (3-7) will face 17th ranked Dakota College at Bottineau (8-2) in the opening game of the Graphic Edge Bowl on Sunday, Dec. 7, at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls. Kickoff is at 11 am.

"This is a great honor for Head Coach Jesse Montalto, the assistant coaches, and our players," says Nate Forsyth, ECC Athletic Director. "Coach Montalto has had a good first year with Ellsworth, and I know the team is excited to have a whole month to practice before the Dec. 7 bowl game. For our sophomores, the opportunity to compete one more time, and in a bowl game, gives them additional visibility with recruiters at the next level. This will be a fantastic way to end the fall season and get ready for the spring season. Go Panthers!"

Coach Montalto adds, "It's a great opportunity for our kids to not only play one more time, but also to enhance their own recruitment … our sophomores will be playing in front of other coaches and recruiters in the Dome. The way our last game of the season ended, our kids really deserve this additional chance to play. We couldn't be happier."

Tickets for the Dec. 7 Graphic Edge bowl game can be purchased through the Ellsworth Community College Athletic Office in Gentle Student Center (email Kristie.Arends@iavalley.edu or Nate.Forsyth@iavalley.edu, or call 641-648-4611 or 800-322-9235. Tickets are $13 for adults and $8 for students.
