Tyrian Taylor & O'Daryl Davis-Douglas receive Player of the Week honors

Two Ellsworth Community College football players have been named Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Football Offense and Defense Athlete of the Week. Tyrian Taylor and O'Daryl Davis-Douglas were honored for their performances on Saturday, Oct. 11, in the Panthers' win against Scott Community College.

Sophomore Taylor received offensive honors for his best performance so far this season. He accounted for three touchdowns for the Panthers with only one on receiving. He rushed for 72 yards on four carries and scored on a 50-yard run. He also threw one pass for 56 yards that resulted in a score. He caught for 69 yards and one touchdown.

Freshman cornerback Davis-Douglas was honored for his defensive performance during the win. He made six solo tackles. Along with the tackles, he broke up three passes and picked off one for his first interception of the season, as well as blocking a field goal attempt.
