Sophomore quarterback DeMarius Davis of the Ellsworth Community College Panther football team has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Football Offense Athlete of the Week.

Davis, from Sarasota, FL, showed his skills on Aug. 29 in the Panthers' 39-34 win over Dodge City Community College. He threw for 214 yards on 14 completions, with two of the completions ending in touchdowns. Davis also rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown on 15 attempts.

"DeMarius is a great dual threat quarterback that puts a lot of time into getting better every day," commented ECC Head Football Coach Jesse Montalto. "He has been a tremendous leader on and off the field. With him at QB we will have a chance to win every game."
