Rhaney and Bishop selected in NFL Draft

Ellsworth Community College alumni and former ECC Panther football players Demetrius Rhaney and Ken Bishop have been selected in this year's NFL Draft. Both players were picked in the seventh round. Rhaney was selected 35th in the seventh round, 250th overall and Bishop was selected directly after him, 36th in the seventh round, 251st overall.

Both Rhaney and Bishop attended and played football for Ellsworth during the 2010 and 2011 seasons. After leaving Ellsworth Rhaney transferred to Tennessee State, where he played center for the Tigers. He was selected in the draft by the St. Louis Rams.

After Ellsworth Bishop transferred to Northern Illinois, where he played defensive tackle. He was selected in the draft by the Dallas Cowboys.

"Both of these men are great representatives of Ellsworth Community College and our Panther athletic program," commented ECC Athletic Director Nate Forsyth. "It's a testimony to what can happen when a student-athlete puts his or her mind to working hard and achieving their dreams."
