Charlisa Overton signs to cheer at ECC

Ellsworth Community College cheerleading is excited to announce the signing of Charlisa Overton from Iowa City High School to cheer for the Panthers.

Overton cheered varsity all four years at City High. She also has competition experience and versatile skills in stunting, jumping and dancing. She was selected for the 2018 Shriners Bowl Iowa Cheerleading Coaches Association (ICCA) Cheer Team and will be performing in July during the bowl game.

Overton's high school cheer coach, Lucy Joseph, recommended she continue her cheering career. "Charlisa's work ethic and commitment was evident as a cheerleader and as a student at City High," Joseph commented. "She also had perfect attendance this past season and demonstrated personal maturity and competence as a student-athlete. She brings an energy that is amazing."

ECC Head Cheer Coach Katie Reed is looking forward to what Overton can bring to the team. "I am thrilled Charlisa will be cheering for the Panthers this season. She brings a strong academic and athletic background to the team, and an enthusiastic team attitude that will fit well with our program."
