Show your Panther spirit!

Show your Panther spirit!

It's time to show your Panther spirit! Ellsworth Community College Cheer/Dance team is holding 2018-2019 tryouts on Saturday, April 28.

The Cheer/Dance team is a group of co-ed ECC students that cheers on the sidelines and performs at halftimes during ECC Panthers home football games in fall semester and some home basketball games in spring semester. The team also competes in competitive cheerleading collegiate competitions during the spring semester. The season begins in late July and ends in late April with practices two to three times weekly.

Tryouts are open to ECC students who are registered for Fall 2018 or who plan to attend in 2018. The tryouts will include the ECC fight song, one cheer, one jump (toe touch), tumbling skills (standing/running), stunting skills (potential position – top, base, back) and overall attitude and college cheer readiness. Students are encouraged to try out even if they do not have some of these skills.

Participants should fill out a cheer recruit form online at www.ECCAthletics.com; wear ECC (purple & gold or black, grey or white) athletic fitted clothing; cheer shoes/cross-trainer athletic shoes (with socks); hair must be up and away from shoulders and face; natural make-up; and a water bottle.

Plan to try out and demonstrate your Panther spirit on Saturday, April 28 at 1 pm in Dittmer Gymnasium. Anyone unable to attend on April 28 may submit a video by emailing ECC Head Coach Katie Read at Katie.Reed@iavalley.edu. Videos must be submitted by April 15. Contact Coach Reed for video submissions details and requirements.
