The Ellsworth Community College Panthers are always proud to see their players move on to the next level and find success. Rene Colon, former ECC pitcher, has received recognition for his achievements at Jackson State University.

Colon was named Southwestern Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday, April 18. During the previous weekend, Jackson State had taken on in-state rival and conference opponent Alcorn State University. Colon pitched a complete nine-inning game, collecting the victory on the mound by scattering eight hits, one earned run, one walk and six strikeouts.

Colon is a Florida, Puerto Rico, native who attended Ellsworth from 2012-2014.
