Ellsworth Community College will host the 2018 Panther Preliminaries trapshooting event on Saturday and Sunday, June 2-3. The event will be held at the Stockdale Gun Club, 10724 Co. Hwy. S-55 in Ackley.

Panther Preliminaries is a fun and exciting opportunity for school-aged trapshooting contestants and all others who enjoy shooting ATA registered trapshooting. The Panther Preliminaries offers a chance to get ready, tune-up, and practice for the IDNR's SCTP Iowa State Shoot held the following weekend. 

Ellsworth Community College will award $2,000 in ECC scholarships during the weekend. Four $500 scholarships will be awarded to the high male, high female, lucky number score drawing, and open name drawing from all contestents who compete on Saturday and Sunday.

More than 200 other awards will also be given over the two-day competition. Camping with electric and water is available for $20 beginning Friday, June 1, through Monday, June 4, for those interested. All individual champions will receive an Ellsworth Community College sports shooting shell bag.
