ECC Cheerleading

The ECC Spirit Program consist of a cheer/dance team and mascot that perform at home football games, home basketball games, and travel to compete in cheer/dance competitions.

The cheer/dance team is open to 10-16 members, female and male, who demonstrate the five areas of cheerleading: crowd leading, spirit raising, ambassadorship, athleticism, and entertainment. Tryouts are held in the Spring (April) and Fall (August) as needed. The season is August - March. The team practices 2-3 times weekly during the season which requires learning cheers, dances, jumps, stunts, and tumble. The team performs at  home football games, home basketball games, the annual Homecoming pep rally, and other special events throughout the year. The team is also a competitive team traveling to compete in cheer/dance collegiate sanctioned competitions and perform at special events.

Being on the ECC cheer/dance team is an exciting opportunity to be a collegiate student athlete.

This team provides the transition from high school to college athletics and transfer opportunities to continue to cheer at the next level.
